Hilary Knight scored a late game-tying goal before Keller's heroics helped USA capture a third Olympic gold in women's hockey

MILAN (AP) — A last Olympic goal for Hilary Knight, a gold medal-winning overtime one for Megan Keller, and the Americans cemented their reputation as one of the most dominant women’s hockey teams to take the ice.

Hilary Knight graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall and played for the Connecticut Polar Bears junior team.

This was the seventh gold medal match — and fifth in a row — between the two hockey powerhouses.

Former Canucks Bo Horvat, Quinn Hughes, and J.T. Miller will all represent their countries in the 2026 Winter Olympic semi-finals.

The United States, led by captain Hilary Knight, is looking to get its first Olympic gold medal since the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and its second win over Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, Canada, led by captain Marie-Philip Poulin, is looking for back-to-back gold medals against the United States.

In the men's cross-country team spring, Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher surged to silver to deliver the United States its first-ever Olympic medal in the event. Ogden won his second silver as he previously became the first American man to reach an Olympic cross-country podium since 1976.

After defeating Sweden, 5-0, earlier this week, the USA women's hockey team is going for the gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics against Canada.
